What Is Interventional Radiology?

Interventional Radiology is also called Surgical Radiology. Interventional Radiology uses the process of imaging device. The basic concept of this process is that it helps the doctors to diagnose a disease through the use of image guidance, and gives a detail picture of the various internal organs of the body. It is a process which is used to guide the doctors regarding any disease. This procedure is sometimes used for diagnostic purposes and sometimes it is used for treatment purpose.
Interventional Radiology involves the treatment of patient and the diagnosis of disease. Interventional radiology also performs treatments by using some instruments like a MRI scanner, ultra-sound scanner, CT scanner and a number of other x-rays. It also involves the use of certain instruments like needles and small tubes like catheters. Respectfully, the doctors of the interventional radiology are referred to as interventional radiologists.
